WILLARD — Lancan “Lance” Holbrook, 64, of Willard, died Tuesday.
He was born Sept. 12, 1942 in Salyersville, Ky. to the late Zebedee and Hattie (Clemon) Holbrook. He had been a resident of the Bellevue area most of his life until moving to Willard in 1998.
He was an Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Armstrong heating and air conditioning in Bellevue after 44 years as a superintendent of maintenance. He attended Faith Builders Church of God in Willard. He always took time off for the family and enjoyed having people around him all of the time. He loved to hunt and the wildlife; especially horses.
He is survived by his wife, Lacella (Patrick) Holbrook, whom he married Aug. 22, 1998; a son, Lancan E. Holbrook of Fremont; a daughter, Kimberly Holbrook of New London; step sons, Chad Rowe of Willard and Charles Rowe of New Haven; four grandchildren; brothers, W.C. Holbrook of Castalia and Jerry Holbrook of Bellevue; and sisters, Beatrice Artino of Bellevue and Wayvone Straggins of Tupleo, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene (Gayhert) Holbrook April 12, 1989; a sister, Mary Lou Trimmer; a brother, Landall Holbrook; and a step daughter, Regina (Rowe) Hicks.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Fred Rowe, Rev. Fred Allen Rowe and Rev. Larry Patrick will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven with Military Honors.
