NORWALK Hubert E. Marcum, 67, of Norwalk, died Tuesday afternoon at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk.
He was born Sept. 26, 1939 in Taylorville, W.Va. He served in the Army from 1962 until 1963. He was a member of the Northern Ohio Gospel Singing Association, enjoyed traveling and collecting coins. He was an avid antique car enthusiast and was proud of his 1970 Monte Carlo. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sylvia J. (Lowe) Marcum of Norwalk; daughters, Karyn (Loxley) Collins of Norwalk and Elizabeth (Tom) Caudill; sister, Bonnie (Rey) Chavez; brother John (Sally) Marcum; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy (Justice) Marcum and his son, Kevin Marcum.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Harvest Church of God, 150 Ohio 113, Milan, Ohio, 44846. The Rev. Carl Woodyard, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
