WILLARD Green Collins Jr., 83, of Willard, died Tuesday evening at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.
He was born April 2, 1923 in Floyd County, Ky. to the late Franklin and Margaret (Sloan) Collins.
He was a World War II veteran, serving as a Navy medic. He was a retired Plant superintendent for Pioneer Balloon Company after 42 years of service. He was an avid gardener, sportsman and enjoyed playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Arline; his 13 children, Marcus Collins, Mrs. Robert (Marla) Richardson and Mrs. Brian (Carol) Alms, all of Norwalk, Jeffrey Collins, Kimberly Collins, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Moore, Mrs. Todd (Claire) Ryan, Mrs. Rick (Connie) Alt, all of Monroeville, Mrs. Ed (Monica) Parker of Woodville, Mrs. James (Brenda) Anderson of Adrian, Mich., Mrs. Dennis (Judy) Pindell of Mulberry, Fla., Ellen Collins of Antioch, Tenn., and Steve Collins of Larkspur, Colo.; siblings, Clair Mullins, Billie Smith, Joe Collins, Folley Phillips and Lemarr Phillips; and 36 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude Francis.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. The Rev. Doug Peterson will officiate.
