NORWALK - Jacqueline (Henry) Roscoe, 83, of Norwalk, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 in Norwalk Memorial Home.

She was born February 15, 1925 in Wood County, Ohio to the late Arthur Frederic and Meta Amelia (Collins) Henry. She was a graduate of Monroeville High School and The Ohio State University.

Upon gradation from college in 1946, she was hired to start the first kindergarten program in the Canton City Schools. She went on to teach at Maplehurst and Bronson in the Norwalk City School system, North Fairfield and South Central High School and finished out her 32 year career at Edison High School as Librarian.

Jacqueline married Colbert Brady Roscoe, August 23, 1947 and moved with him to Greenwich, Ohio to raise their family. C.B., as he was locally known, preceded her in death in 1989.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk, Delta Gamma Sorority, was a lifetime member of the Ohio State Alumni Association, Queen Esther Chapter 15 Order of the Eastern Star, the Huron County Retired Teachers, Norwalk Garden Club, Huron County College Women, Republican Women of Huron County, Norwalk Lunch Bunch, the Red Hat Delites, as well as numerous Euchre, Bridge and Pinochle Clubs.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk, Delta Gamma Sorority, was a lifetime member of the Ohio State Alumni Association, Queen Esther Chapter 15 Order of the Eastern Star, the Huron County Retired Teachers, Norwalk Garden Club, Huron County College Women, Republican Women of Huron County, Norwalk Lunch Bunch, the Red Hat Delites, as well as numerous Euchre, Bridge and Pinochle Clubs.

In her early retirement, Jackie traveled the world, spending time in Europe, the Middle East, China, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland, as well as traveling throughout the United States.

In addition to traveling, Jackie enjoyed music, playing cards, but most of all, she loved to entertain her large family and extensive group of friends.

She will be remembered by all for her great sense of style and flair for decorating.

Mrs. Roscoe is survived by five sons and daughters in law: Brady & Peggy Roscoe of Houston, Texas, Jeffrey and Susan Roscoe of Sylvania, Ohio, Frederic and Linda Roscoe of Mansfield, Ohio, Mark and Patricia Roscoe of Deloit, Illinois, and Todd and Karen Roscoe of Alpharetta, Georgia.

She leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, with one more on the way, and by her brother and sister in law, Dr. Frederic and Mary Henry and by her sister and brother in law, Esme Jean (Jimmie) and John Burrer, Lt.Col. retired.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, where calling hours will be Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Blvd., Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Adrian Doll will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
