CLYDE — Ella G. (Chumley) Penn, 81, of Clyde died Sunday at her home.
She was born March 23, 1925 in Tazwell, Tenn. to the late John and Vida (Goins) Kitchen.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Brown St., Clyde and a member of the Women of the Church. She had been a waitress at the Ohio Turnpike; Camie's Restaurant in Clyde and the Clyde Eagles prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Penn, whom she married Oct. 19, 1972; a daughter and son-in-law, Jenell and Daniel Craig of Clyde; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Vivian Chumley of Fremont, Dexter and Sally Chumley of Hartville and Nathan Chumley of Vickery; stepsons, Bruce (Anna) Penn of Norwalk and Danny (Debbie) Penn of Lindsay; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, seven step grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild; sisters, Evelyn McCleary and Ruth Hickman, of Tennessee and a half sister, Kay Aver; and half brother, J.D. Kitchen both of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Noah and Avis Hicks; and a brother, Elmo Kitchen.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Brown St., Clyde. The Rev. Junior Kerns will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
