NORWALK — Ileta J. Malcolm, 71, of Norwalk, died Thursday afternoon in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born November 2, 1936 in Peru Township to the late Paul P. and Doris L. (Beck) Manlet and was a lifelong area resident. She was a Christian and attended Faith Memorial Assembly of God in Sandusky and the Norwalk First United Methodist Church.
She was a 1954 graduate of St. Paul High School and was a member of the St. Paul Alumni Association. She was a former waitress at Berry’s Restaurant, a former cook at Reinecks Tavern and a former hair stylist at Larry’s Beauty Salon in Norwalk. She was a former co-owner and co-founder of the original Pressbox Tavern in Norwalk. She retired in 2003 from Norwalk Furniture where she worked for 30 years. She was a volunteer for Stein Hospice Service, was an avid bowler and Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Don and Sue Brown of Sandusky and Doug Brown and Sue Neidler of Sandusky and by her daughters and sons in law, Teresa A. and Richard Brutsche of Norwalk and Pattie and Doug Resor of Norwalk, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Howard Manlet of Cleveland.
Friends may call from 5:30 until the time of service at 7 p.m. Monday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Ken Hiser and Rev. Dr. Roger Smith will officiate. Inurnment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron. She was a tissue donor to the Cleveland Eye Bank and the Cleveland Life Banc.
