Dec. 14, 1912 — April 14, 2008

OBERLIN — Elizabeth Pearl (Rutan) Woodrum, 95, of Kipton, died Monday evening at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.

She was born Dec. 14, 1912 in Red House, W.Va., and was a lifelong resident of the Oberlin and Wellington areas. 

She was a homemaker and also worked at M.A. Harrison, retiring in 1979. She enjoyed gardening and needlework.

She is survived by her daughters, Leah (James) Lively of Leesburg, Fla., Dorothy Clark of Lorain, Evelyn (Gary) Swinehart of Milan, Sarah (George) Yakunovich of Kipton; sons, James (Marian) Woodrum of Kipton, and Paul (Betty) Woodrum of Elyria; a daughter-in-law, Carol Giest of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Lee Woodrum in 1964; sons, Wendell and Charles, both in 2004; parents, James and Tressa (Styers) Rutan; brothers, Sherman, Frank, Charles “Roy”, James “Les”, Clyde and Jacob; and sisters, Hallie Murray and Hannah McBride.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Friday at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. Burial will follow in Camden Cemetery, near Kipton.
