NORWALK — Gene A. Geiger, 63, of New London, died Saturday at Fisher Titus Medical Center after a sudden illness.
He was born June 1, 1944 in Norwalk, son of the late Marcellus and Marcella (Miller) Geiger.
He was a 1962 New London High School graduate and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by F.E. Myers, Ashland and later worked at Delphi, Sandusky, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of the U.A.W. Union and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London.
He is survived by his wife, Karol Rose (Grubb) Geiger, whom he married May 22, 1965; daughters, Heidi Rose and Michael Boyd of Findlay, Amanda Susan and Dale McClaflin of New London; one grandson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerry Allen and Jo Geiger of Berthoud, Colo., Keven John and Cheri Geiger of Pataskala, Rick Carl and Karen Geiger of Mansfield; a sister, Sue Ann and Greg Smiley of Worthington; a sister-in-law, Kathy Mezick; and nine nieces, three nephews, seven great-nieces, and five great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Eric Marcellus Geiger; and a great-nephew, Connor Beery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London with prayer service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London, with the Rev. Doug Taylor officiating.
