William J. “Bill” Hersha

FOSTORIA — William J. “Bill” Hersha, 51, of Fostoria, died Wednesday morning at his home.
He was born April 29, 1956 in Norwalk to the late Henry and Frances Hersha.
He is survived by his companion of 23 years, Sandy Chamness of Fostoria; children, Emily (Daniel) Swick, Norwalk, and Todd (Jennifer) Hersha, Tennessee; four grandchildren; sisters, Dorene Stover and Sandy Cox, both of Norwalk, and Christine Dunlap, Sandusky; one brother, Larry Hersha, California.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Hersha, and a brother, Michael Hersha.
He was a graduate of Norwalk High School and a former employee of Fostoria City Schools until 1993 when he became disabled.
He was a member of the Fostoria Church of God, a member of the Fostoria Eagles, and a member of the Fostoria United Sportsman Club. He enjoyed fishing, and will be remembered as a “likeable, friendly, and sometimes outspoken guy, who would help anyone”.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where an Eagles memorial service will take place at 7. Friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, with funeral services beginning at 11 at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Goodwin presiding.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
