Henry W. Ingersoll, Sr., 68, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday, March 14, 2014, in his home.
He was born September 29, 1945 in Norwalk, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident. Henry was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam, and received the Purple Heart Medal.
He was a former employee of Mayflower Vehicle Systems (Sheller-Globe) where he worked for over 30 years.
Henry was a life member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norwalk, Ohio. He was a private pilot, and enjoyed fishing.
Henry is survived by his children, Henry W. Ingersoll, Jr. (Sara Hurst) of Norwalk, Ohio, Ashley Ingersoll (Kevin Kingsborough) of Norwalk, Ohio, and Taylor Ingersoll of Florence, Ohio, and by his grandchildren, Henry W. Ingersoll III, Maci Ingersoll, Conor Gregory, and Hunter Gregory. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Jean) Ingersoll of Norwalk, Ohio, Richard (Dottie) Ingersoll of Milan, Ohio, and Ronald Ingersoll of Norwalk, Ohio.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Ivan E. Ingersoll, and by his mother and step father, Irene (Brauer) and Herman Hafner.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Tom Goossens, Spiritual Care Coordinator of Heartland Hospice will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
