WILLARD — Helen 'Grandma' Smith, 100, of Austin Drive in Willard, died Monday at home with her daughter, Myrna, at her side.
She was born Jan. 4, 1907 in Frankfort, Ind. to the late John and Ethel (McClary) Brunswig. She was a member of the Willard Church of God on Willard West Road. She helped in the kitchen for many years at the Hi-Ho Restaurant in Willard. She enjoyed crafts and loved her family.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Griffis of Frankfort, Ind., Mary and Jim Lewis of Fairmount, Ind. and Myrna and Ullis Dillman of Willard; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Jacquie Smith of Arizona; 20 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 41 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Smith; daughters, Addie Mae Staley and Joyce Stimpson; and two sons-in-law, three grandsons and a granddaughter.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Willard Church of God on Willard West Road, where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. David Martin officiating.
Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
