NORTH FAIRFIELD — Roger B. Tilton, 83, of North Fairfield, died Sunday morning at the Norwalk Memorial Home after a brief illness.
He was born April 26, 1923 in North Fairfield to the late William P. and Edith G. (Brown) Tilton. He was a lifelong resident of North Fairfield and Fairfield Township.
He attended North Fairfield Schools. He had worked for the former B&O Railroad as a locomotive engineer where he retired after 32 years. He also farmed.
He is survived by nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beth (Clark) Tilton; a brother, Clair Tilton who was killed in World War II; and a niece.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Richard Jueckstock of the Christian Alliance Church of Willard will officiate. Burial will follow in the North Fairfield Cemetery.
