NORTH FAIRFIELD — Loretta B. White, 87, of North Fairfield, died Sunday morning in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 20, 1920 in Ottawa County to the late Christ E. and Edna (Haack) Knudsen and lived in this area most of her life.

She was a member of the North Fairfield United Methodist Church and was a 1938 graduate of North Fairfield High School where she was a guard on the girls basketball team.

She was the cafeteria manager at South Central High School from 1963 to 1972 and was a former employee of the C.E. Ward Company in New London.

She was a member of the Farm Womens Club, the Chit Chat Club, the Young at Heart Club and the North Fairfield Legion Auxiliary 706, and a former member of the Willard Eagles Auxiliary.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, tatting and needle work and entered many items at the Huron County Fair. She also enjoyed crafts, basket making and spending time with family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Linda White of North Fairfield and Bob and Diane White of North Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Larry Coy of North Fairfield and Ginny and Gordon Ebinger of Greenwich; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Sandy Knudsen of New London; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Joe Duta of Medina, Shirley Engelman of Genoa and Sue and Jim Goorman of Muskegon, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. White in 1982 and by her grandson, Gary Coy in 2001.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Linda Masters, pastor of the North Fairfield United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
