PORTSMOUTH — Anna Pauline Smith, 84, of Portsmouth and formerly of Norwalk, died Jan. 25 at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth.
She was born in Willard, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Vogel. She was a graduate of Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing Capitol University and did graduate work at the University of Chicago.
She taught nursing at hospitals in Mansfield, Bowling Green and Norwalk.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norwalk.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Elmer Smith; sons, Bruce Smith of Omaha, Neb., Brian Smith of Columbus and Brent Smith of Dalton, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Smith, Carl Smith and John Smith; and sisters, Helen Martin, Marge Wiles and Amelia Miller.
A memorial service was held Jan. 28 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norwalk.
