MONROEVILLE — Harold M. “Butch” Pifer, Jr., 59, of Monroeville died unexpectedly Tuesday at his residence.
He was born Sept. 25, 1948 in Norwalk and was a 1966 graduate of Monroeville High School.
He was employed by Mayflower Vehicle Systems, Inc., Norwalk for 33 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the United Auto Workers Union, Local 1379.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, the former Sherry L. Pasenow; sons, Nathan R. (Megan) Pifer, Harold J. Pifer and Zachary L. Pifer, all of Monroeville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willis (Rosie) Pifer of Bucyrus and David (Rita Kurtz) Pifer of Monroeville; three sisters, Annessa Folk of Sandusky, Alice (Jim) Theisen of Oak Harbor and Sue (David) West of Norwalk; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold M. and Eleanor R. (Lepley) Pifer, Sr.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with The Rev. Fred Wiechers, of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norwalk officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
