NORWALK — Marilyn Jean Myers Bolyard, 63, of Norwalk, died Sunday in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born April 6, 1944 in Champion, Ill. to the late Otis A. and Donna Mae (Otto) Myers and came to this area in 1972 from Chicago.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the Logos program.
She had worked for Ewell & Associates Real Estate of Norwalk and Mike Myers-Century 21 Real Estate, of Norwalk. She was co-owner of The Good Earth Trading Company.
She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, where she was on the board of directors, a member of the Real Estate Group, and the Lions Club. She was a volunteer for the United Fund, Meals on Wheels and Hospice-Fisher-Titus Medical Center. She was a mentor for young women. She participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and Komen Race for the Cure. She touched many people in all walks of life. She had a kind heart and a giving personality.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kim Bolyard of Columbus, Randall and Shellie Bolyard of Columbus; Ryan and Kate Chapin of Missoula, Montana; Austin Chapin of Missoula and Eric Chapin; brothers and sister-in-law, Marvin Myers of Duluth, Ga. and Marsha and Randy
Ray of Peoria of Danville, Ill; and a sister and brother-in-law, Melvin and Judy Myers of Peoria, Ill.; three grandchildren; 13 nieces; 10 nephews; her faithful friend and caregiver, Diane Hire; and her ex-husband, Robert Bolyard of Norwalk.
She was preceded in death by her partner, Karen Chapin; and a niece and two nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
