GROVEPORT William David Durst Jr., 61, formerly of Groveport, died Saturday at Valleyview Nursing Center in Fremont.
He was born Dec. 28, 1945 to the late William David Durst Sr., and Lillian (Stockmaster) Durst.
He graduated from the Clyde High School in 1963 and had served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed for 13 years at the French Nursery in Clyde and for 23 years at the East Side Nursery in the Columbus area. He was affiliated with the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde and a member of the Clyde VFW.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven Scott and Chelsea Durst of Green Springs; two grandsons; sisters, Betty (Ed) Shaw of Clyde and Donna Durst (Roger Dick) of Fremont; and stepmother, Rena Durst, Clyde.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vine St., Clyde. The Rev. Dennis Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery. Military graveside will be provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
