Frank Campbell, 92, of New London, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 from an extended illness.
He was born June 20, 1921, in New London, to Roy and Zelma Campbell. He was married to the former Helen Johnson for 66 years.
Frank served his country during WWII, he entered into the Army on October of 1942. He served in the European Theatre including D-Day at Normandy. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He retired from Jennings and Churella in 1985 as a job superintendent and carpenter.
Frank was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Zelma; brothers, Carl and Zelbert; and sister, Thelma Burk.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Linda Goodspeed of Dublin, Penny Sloan of New London, Larry (Marilyn) Campbell of New London and Terry (Julie) Campbell of Huron; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and sister, Margie Hanna of Wadsworth.
Frank's family will greet friends Monday, November 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ben Black officiating. Burial will follow with military rites in Grove Street Cemetery, New London. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
