COLLINS — James J. Conry Jr., 83, of Collins, died Tuesday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
He was born on July 7, 1924, in Collins and has lived there his entire life. He worked at New Departure in Sandusky as a precision grinder, retiring in 1986. He coached Little League Baseball. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Wakeman, the Bellevue American Legion Post 83, and the Bellevue Eagles Aerie 732. He loved golfing, bowling and drag racing.
Survivors include his sons Mike Conry, of Columbus, and Denny Conry, of Norwalk; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. and Mary (Malloy) Conry Sr., and his wife of 58 years Virginia “Ginny” Conry.
There will be a Scripture Service at 4 p.m. Thursday, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. A prayer service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 46 E. Main St., Wakeman. The Rev. Doug Taylor will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
