ASHLAND — Sarah Beth Meadows, 24, of Ashland, and most recently Fairport Harbor, died Monday at home from a cerebral hemorrhage.
She was born March 18, 1983 in Ashland, the daughter of Eric P. and Valerie Close Meadows.
She had been a resident of the Ashland area all her life until moving to Fairport Harbor earlier this year. She was a graduate of Mapleton High School’s Class of 2001. She was an artist, had a tenderness for animals and was greatly loved by her dogs in particular.
She developed a love for gardening with her little daughter, and remodeling her home. While growing up, she spent her summers helping on her grandparents’ farm where they raised baby deer, and going to fairs with her grandparents’ petting zoo, Close’s Critters. She also loved to read about and study animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Zoe Idelle Ferris, her love since age 15; Jonathan Ferris, whom she shared her home with; her mother and her companion, Valerie Meadows and Jeff Adams; a sister, Kimberly Meadows; a nephew; maternal grandparents, Oliver and Judith Close; paternal grandfather, Gary Stitzel; and aunts, uncles, many cousins and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eric P. Meadows in 1984; and her grandmother, Betty Sara Stitzel.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, 313 Center St., Ashland, where services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Jeff Martin officiating.
