Sarah Janette Ray, age 85, of Greenwich, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at her home.
She was born March 11, 1928 in Townsend Twp., Ohio, daughter of the late Alfred H. and Nellie E. (Baker) Arnold. Janette moved to Greenwich in 1948.
She retired in 1990 from Midwest Industries, Willard after 23 years, worked at the Firelands Red Cross Blood Bank for several years. She tutored GED students in Greenwich. She was a member of the Ripley Church, Greenwich. Janette was a Huron County Board of Elections volunteer in the precincts on election day.
She is survived by her daughter, Deb (Randy) Leber of Greenwich; 3 grandchildren, Katherine (Sean) Leonard, Nathan Leber and Bryce Leber; 1 great grandson, Aidan Leonard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Ray in 1990, her son, Dale E. Ray in 1962 and siblings, Cecelia More, Lory Arnold, Mary Eva Sheridan, Edith Rew and Alfred Arnold.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich and Friday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service with Pastor Eric Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich.
