David D. Kromer, 60, died Friday, July 12, 2013 in Huron, Ohio after a lingering illness.
David was born in Sandusky, Ohio. He has lived in both Erie and Huron counties throughout his lifetime.
He attended Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana where he studied Automotive Diesel Truck Technology. David was most recently employed at Homan’s Transportation in Monroeville, Ohio as a truck driver. Prior to that he was employed at John’s Welding and Towing in Tiffin, Ohio, as part/service manager. For more than 30 years he worked in Norwalk, Ohio at W.L. Mead Trucking Company. He also worked at Norwalk Implement, and Norwalk Truck Sales, as a mechanic and later as Service Manager.
Surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Ruth Kromer of Milan, Ohio, Wayne and MaryAnn Kromer of Tiffin, Ohio, and by his sister, Rebecca Kromer, and her longtime friend, Mary VanSchaick, both of Waverly, New York.
He is also survived by his beloved cousin, Gail Kromer and her longtime friend, Judy Isaac, both of Norwalk, Ohio, by his nephews, Brett (Jill) Kromer of Sandusky, Ohio, Mark Kromer of Tiffin, Ohio, and Ross Kromer of Findlay, Ohio, as well as his cousin, Marilyn (Jim) Ellis of Norwalk, Ohio and other cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Otto A. and Donnabelle (Wade) Kromer and by his brothers, Glenn Frederick Kromer and Paul Biehl Kromer.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Margaret D’Anieri, Pastor of St. Paul Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.
