NORWALK - Robert D. Rehark, 82, of Norwalk died early Wednesday morning at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born April 13, 1925 in Cleveland, son of the late Chauncey C. and Norma (Dorr) Rehark, and came to this are in 1956 from Mansfield.
He was a veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II. He received his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University, where he was co captain of the wrestling team and an Ohio collegiate wrestling champion and was also on the golf team.
He worked at Iron City Sash and Door (Whitmer-Jackson) in Cleveland, where he had been company wide salesman of the year. He was a stock broker for Mid Ohio Securities in Elyria, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church and attended St. Paul Episcopal Church with his son. He was past president and Lion of the Year in 1981 of the Norwalk Lions Club, a member of Mt. Vernon F&AM Masonic Lodge 64, a 50-year member of the Norwalk Elks Lodge, a member of Firelands Post 2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 41, and Huron Lodge 37 IOOF.
He enjoyed golf and played in the Norwalk City Golf Championship. He also enjoyed wrestling and working out at Ernsthausen Community Center.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. and Debra Rehark of Norwalk; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and David Simek of Blue Ash, and Jayne Rehark- Duff and Douglas Duff of Magnolia, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral services will be private. Inurnment will be in Milan Cemetery.
