NEW LONDON - Linda J. Lorentz, 56, of New London, died Sunday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk after a 10-month illness.
She was born July 18, 1951 in Port Clinton. She grew up in Oak Harbor and had lived in New London for the past 26 years. She was a 1969 graduate of Oak Harbor High School, a 1973 graduate of Bowling Green State University and she also obtained a second degree from Ashland University in 2000.
She worked at American Colors in Sandusky for several years. She had been employed at Firelands Electric Co-Op in New London for 22 years as the Director of Finance and Accounting. She attended the New London Alliance Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Benjamin) Wittman of Delaware; a son, Ryan Lorentz of New London; her mother, Betty (Behlmer) Schmidt of Oak Harbor; a sister, Barbara (Richard) Carper of Gibsonburg; and her special friend, Jim Mitchell of New London.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Schmidt.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the New London Alliance Church, 4625 Ohio 162 West, New London, with the Rev. Howard Bowers officiating.
Burial will follow in Nova Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Lung Association of Ohio, 226 Ohio 61 East, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 and to the New London Alliance Church.
