NORWALK - Calvin C. Renneckar Jr. 67, of Norwalk, died early Wednesday morning in the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 16, 1940 in Norwalk, son of the late Calvin C. and Daisy (Lutz) Renneckar, Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1958 graduate of Norwalk High School where he participated in football and track.

He served in the Ohio National Guard achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 711, Norwalk; the National Plumbers and Pipefitters Association; the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 190 and 577; and the Huron Yacht Club.

He retired in December 2005 after 34 years as a gas pipeline welder, most recently for the Miller Pipeline Company of Columbus.

He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and grandchildren in Florida, boating and fishing on Lake Erie, model trains, and gardening. He was a multi-talented man who will always be remembered as someone who could fix anything or make a new one.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Stieber) Renneckar, to whom he was married for 43 years; a daughter, Kimberly Pollack of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two grandchildren; a sister, Cheryl Renneckar of Clearwater, Fla.; and uncle, Norman Renneckar; aunt, Rita Renneckar; a sister-in-law, Audrey Houck; brothers and sisters-in-laws, David and Marlene Stieber, Sam and Lynn Deschaine; a close friend, Jan Nelch of Clearwater Fla.; and by many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Roger E. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you sharon and your faily. Iam sure sorry to hear about Cal. He was such a jolly guy when ever i seen him. He always talked about how much he loved you and his family. It was sure nice to know him the short time i cut and permed his hair. Iam in Florida also with my family too. I now have custody of all four grandkids.
