GREENWICH - JoAnn Earhart, 78, of Greenwich, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital in Willard after a sudden illness.
She was born July 18, 1929 in Enterprise, W.Va., daughter of the late Homer Elias and Melissa Frances (Parsons) McIntire. She moved to the Mansfield area in the 1940s and had lived in the Greenwich area since 1963.
She had worked at Tom's Restaurant in Mansfield where she met her husband. She and her husband owned and operated Wood & Needle Craft Store in Greenwich for several years.
She loved flowers, her grandchildren, crafts, gardening, solitaire and family, Bible study, dancing, bowling, bingo and drinking coffee with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Fran (Doug) Dittman of Greenwich; sons, Jack (Sandy) Earhart of Greenwich and David (Sue) West of Mount Gilead; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; her brother, Duane McIntire of Shinston, W.Va.; and close friends, Sally and Jim Eagle and their family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson "Jack" Earhart in 1991; sister, Katherine Crawford; infant sister, Jean McIntire; and great-grandson, Isaiah Earhart.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Wesley Evangelical Church, 58 E. Main St., Shiloh, where a service will take place at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Troy Diersing officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
