NORWALK -- Richard A. "Moe" Day, age 57, of Norwalk was called home to his Lord, Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a long courageous battle.
He was born August 16, 1955 in Norwalk. He was a 1974 graduate of Western Reserve High School. He worked many years at Youngstown Miller Corp., Faulhaber, Lake Erie Railcare and Don Mowry. He enjoyed Intramural men's basketball, softball and bowling, Cleveland Indians and Cavs, Ohio State, NASCAR, fishing and camping. He was a former umpire for boy's baseball, enjoyed computer games and Facebook. He was a strong steadfast man with a gentle soul.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Patience (Storrow) Day; step-children, James Barber of Wellington, Matt (Megan) Barber of Springfield; and grandson, Eli Barber; siblings, Ronald (Pam) Day, Joe (Laurie) Day and Louise Shupe; nieces, nephews and numerous other family members,
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie (Lease) Shupe; sisters, Bev and Doris; nephews and faithful loving companion, Beauty.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:30 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. The Rev. James Westerman will officiate. Private interment at Olena Cemetery.
