BELLEVUE - John Joseph Rospert, 86, of Bellevue, died Sunday Sept. 16, 2007 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1920 to the late Theodore and Amelia (Frisch) Rospert in Attica. He married Mary (McConnell) Rospert on May 20, 1944 at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue.
In 1980, John retired from Spencer Kellog where he was employed as a supervisor.
He served in World War II in the 95th Div. 377 Infantry, worked for the Seneca County Farm Bureau, guard for Continental Secret Service at Clyde Whirlpool and spent many hours helping Louis Walters on the farm. He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue. His life was anchored by his devotion to faith and family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary; a son, Eugene (Laurie) Rospert of Republic; a daughter, Lisa (John) Ball of Bellevue; four grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph (Ruth) of Tiffin, Bernard (Ina) of Bellevue and Thomas (Elaine) of Wadsworth; sisters, Rita Bender of Bellevue, Margaret Loose of Bellevue, and Mary (Earl) Wetzel of Sandusky; 53 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Curtis Rospert, who died Sept. 13, 2006.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Wednesday at Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church with the Very Rev. Keith Stripe officiating. Internment will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
