NORWALK - Leon Albin Bores, 80, of Norwalk, died Friday evening at Twilight Gardens Home in Norwalk.
He was born June 14, 1927 in Peru Township and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was the owner and operator of Bores Excavating from 1954 until 1988. He then moved to Ligonier, Indiana and moved back to the Norwalk area in 2000.
He is survived by his son, Robert "Butch" (Tammy) Bores of Norwalk; daughters, Donna (Tim) Wallace, Sharon (Larry) Perry, Elaine (Butch) Spaulding and Leona "Tuti" Robbins of Syracuse, Indiana; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Bores, Eugene Bores and Willard "Willie" Bores, all of Norwalk.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen M. (Barman) Bores in 2000; parents, Leo J. Bores and Irene (Wilhelm) Bores; sisters, Lucinda "Cindy" and Florence Sprowl.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where a service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Kenneth Lill officiating. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
