CLARKSFIELD - Ray Boyd, 59, of Clarksfield, died Aug. 29 at Stein Hospice due to complications from a brief battle with brain cancer.
He was born April 25, 1948 in Banner, Ky.
He was a graduate of Betsy Lane High School in Kentucky. He worked at the Ford Motor Company in Lorain as a relief man on the assembly line, before retiring in 1997. He enjoyed working in the yard, washing his cars and having cookouts with his family.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Boyd of Norwalk; father, Luther Boyd of Kentucky; brothers, Dewey Boyd of Tennessee, Curtis Boyd of North Carolina, and Roy Boyd of Columbus; sisters, Bonnie Boyd of Kentucky and Evelyn McNeely (Boyd) of Lorain; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora (Akers) Boyd; and brothers, Jay Boyd and Kermit Boyd.
The funeral for Mr. Boyd was held at the Little Salmon Baptist Church in Banner, Ky. Sept. 2. Burial in Davison Memorial Gardens in Ivel, Ky.
