Marjorie Pearl Hockmuth, 97, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 in Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born December 25, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Harry A. and Theresa A. (Posack) Monroe and came to the Norwalk area from New London, Ohio.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Norwalk Salvation Army where she volunteer for many years. Marjorie was also a member of Eagles Aerie #711 Auxiliary, was on the Board of Trustees for the Huron/Erie CAC, and was a volunteer at the Norwalk Clothing Bank. She was the former owner Monroe Auto Repair and service station in New London, Ohio, and was also the former manager of the Wildlife Preserve in New London, Ohio as well as a former employee of Weekly Hatchery in New London, Ohio. During W.W. II she was a riveter for airplane manufacturing.
She is survived by her son, Richard and Marilyn Hockmuth of Smith Creek, Michigan and their children, Kim, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Heaven, and great grandchildren, Alandria, Bryce, and Cahlan, by her son, Ronald Hockmuth of Norwalk, Ohio and his children, Ryan, Russell, Royce, and Tina Marie Hockmuth. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Hockmuth in 1970 and by her brothers, Fred, and Harry Monroe.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Roger George, Pastor of First Church of Christ, Norwalk, Ohio will officiate.
