Nancy L. Gassman, age 66, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Twilight Gardens Home.
She was born March 31, 1947 in Fairview Park, OH to the late William and Helyn (Skintik) Blackburn.
Nancy was a graduate of Midview High School in Grafton, moving to Norwalk in 1971. She retired as Payroll Manager for Janesville Products after nearly 32 years of service. She was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed travel and trips to Las Vegas. She spent time raising Italian Greyhound Dogs for show and traveling to many AKA sponsored dog shows. Nancy was a big Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers fan.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Gassman to whom she was married to for 29 years; son, Bryan Figler of Madison, WI; stepchildren, John (Lori) Gassman of Hilliard, Jim Gassman of Evansville, IN, Jennifer (Jon) VandeSteeg of McKinney, TX, Jason (Jennifer) Gassman of Milan and Joseph (Stacie) Gassman of Austin, TX; 11 grandchildren and also survived by sisters, Debra (Robert) Shakatko of Hudson, NY, Bonnie Blackburn of Nokomis, FL and Cindy (Jim) Grealis of Fairview Park.
Friends may call on Monday from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
