NORWALK Shirley J. Hager, 81, of Norwalk, died Thursday in Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born June 27, 1926 in Conneaut to the late Roy N. and Margaret Ann (Heimer) Smith.
She attended St. Mary schools in Conneaut and came to this area 20 years ago. She attended St. Paul Catholic Church. She was a life member of the VFW Post No. 2743 Auxiliary, Eagles Aerie No. 711 Auxiliary. She enjoyed Wednesday night Norwalk Booster bingo, collecting elephants and angels. She loved spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. and Sharen Hager of Corona, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan M. and Jeff DuFore of Port Clinton and Clarice Jean and Dale Foster of Norwalk; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hager in 1987; a brother, Lawrence Smith; and sisters, Kathryn Allds and Marian Zehner.
Friends may call from 5 t 9 p.m. Sunday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. David Cirata will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
