Marjorie A. (Reineck) Benedict, age 84, passed away on April 2, 2013 in DeLand, Fla. where she lived with her husband, Donald E. Benedict.
Marjorie was born in Norwalk on May 9, 1928 to Frank and Dorothy (Weishahn) Reineck and had been a Norwalk resident until moving to Ft. Myers, Fla. with her husband Donald in 1999 and later to DeLand to be closer to their daughter, Donna Benedict Johnson and son, James E. Benedict.
Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Donald and children: Mary Ann (Norman) Denger of South Amherst, Ohio; David C. Benedict of Mentor, Ohio; Donna Benedict Johnson of Orange City, Fla and James E. Benedict of DeLand, Fla; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy (Weishahn) Reineck, brothers Edward Reineck and Thomas Reineck and sister, Mary Reineck Veitch.
Marjorie, Donald and the Benedict family have strong ties to the Norwalk area where they raised their family and enjoyed many friendships.
A private family funeral, including Mass, will be conducted at St. Peter's Catholic Church of DeLand, with arrangements handled by the Lankford Funeral Home of DeLand.
A memorial Mass and celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at her home parish, St. Paul's Catholic Church in Norwalk later this summer.
