NEW LONDON - Kenneth E. "Rock" Laborie, 81, of New London, died Sunday at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born Nov. 24, 1925 in New London, son of the late Vincent W. and Stella (Ried) Laborie.

He was a 1943 graduate of New London High School and a graduate of Miami University of Ohio. He was a teacher for over 40 years. He taught at New London High School from 1954 until 1989.

He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the New London American Legion Broom Woode Post 292, where he was very active with the Post and Boys State. He was a talented musician. He was also a strong supporter of New London and New London High School.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Laborie of New London.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Constance Laborie.

Friends may call from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Burial with military will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Huntington Township.

Big Dad was a great guy. He always cared about his students no matter what their background. He taught me a lot about life.
