PLYMOUTH Wanda L. Hughes, 68, of Plymouth, died Tuesday in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
She was born Sept. 6, 1938 in Prestonsburg, Ky. to the late Wiley and Bessie (Nolen) Howard and had been a Plymouth resident for 40 years.
She retired from MidWest Industries after 38 years of service and was a member of the Grace Valley Chapel in Shelby.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Hughes, whom she wed Sept. 25, 1956; sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny and Dona Hughes of Shelby, Ray Hughes of Shelby and Chad Hughes of Indiana; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Michael Berry of Shelby, Kay and Steve Evans of Lagrange, Ind., Brenda Sweet of Plymouth and Sherri and Bruce Coburn of Shelby; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Eddie Howard of Willard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Monty Perry officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
