CLYDE Betty J. Snyder, 81, of Clyde, died Saturday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born March 7, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Ind. to the late Ira and Zelma (Hammond) Williams.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. She graduated from Van Wert High School in 1944. For many years, she was a cook for the Clyde-Green Springs Schools at Vine St., Elementary, the last several years she was the head cook at that cafeteria.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Rod Harris of Norwalk; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Nancy Snyder of Clyde; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and John Ackerman of Spencerville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Snyder, whom she married Nov. 21, 1945 and who died June 21, 1986; sisters, Marjorie Williams and Clarabelle Snyder; and brothers, Raymond Williams, Paul Williams, Charles Williams and Clarence Williams.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forest St., Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
