MONROEVILLE - Walter A. Myers, 85, of Monroeville, died Thursday morning in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Nov. 19, 1921 in Monroeville to the late Leon and Anna (Kluding) Myers and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the Huron County Farm Bureau. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed fishing, playing cards and met his late wife on the dance floor.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Neil and Sharon Myers of Monroeville and Lee and Theresa Myers of Monroeville; daughters and son-in-law, Carol Myers of Chicago, Ill. and Marilyn and Mark Spaar of Norwalk; six grandchildren; a sister, Bernadette Hipp of Norwalk; a sister-in-law, Lois Myers of Gainesville, Fla.; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland Cramer of Sandusky, Louis Cramer of Attica, Virgil Cramer of Attica, Earl and Alice Cramer of New Washington and Alan Cramer of Tiro.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred M. (Cramer) Myers in 2006; a son, Garald Myers in 1965; and a brother, Clarence Myers.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Settlement Road, Norwalk. The Rev. Kenneth Lill will officiate. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
