Janice S.(Sweet) Stoneham

 Janice S.(Sweet) Stoneham, 63, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Tuesday morning, January 8, 2013 in Gaymont Nursing Center.

She was born June 16, 1949 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Charles D. and Hazel F. (Coe) Sweet and lived in this area most of her life.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio and was a devout Catholic.

Janice was a 5th grade teacher at St. Mary Elementary School for 25 years, retiring in 2003 and tutored throughout her teaching career.

Afflicted with Polio as an infant, she defied the odds, walking, leading a productive life in her classroom while touching and inspiring many students and families. She also enjoyed writing, reading, playing cards, and was an avid "Twilight" movie series fan.

Janice is survived by her son, David and Linda Stoneham, and by her granddaughter, Davlin Stoneham.

She is also survived by her sisters, Debora (Sweet) Stogner, and Sandy (Sweet) Lovato, and by her sister in law, Michelle Sweet, by her nieces, Jennifer (Stogner) Lester, Rebecca Stogner, Keli Stogner, Bethany (Sweet) Essary, Laura (Sweet) Manning, Stephanie Sweet, and Megan (Lovato) Hodgkiss and by her nephews, Shawn Lovato and Tim Lovato, by her uncles, Don Sweet and Mike Sweet, by her aunt, Betty (Sweet) Winslow, several great nieces and nephews, many cousins, and dear friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Charles D. Sweet, Jr., and by her niece, Charlotte Sweet.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 2:00p.m to 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, where prayer services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 West League St., Norwalk, Ohio.
