NORTH AUBURN - Roger A. "Rog" Shell, 44, of North Auburn, died unexpectedly Sunday in Cleveland.

He was born Aug. 11, 1962 in Bucyrus and has been a life long resident of North Auburn/New Washington.

He was a 1980 graduate of Buckeye Central High School and has been employed with Country Star Co-op in New Washington for over 20 years. He was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, the First Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 405, the Amatuer Trap Shooters Assoc., the Ohio State Trap Shooters Association, the Port Clinton Moose Club, Knights of Columbus No. 1718 and was a key member of the "Go for Broque" Band in New Washington. He was very active in trap shooting, softball, golfing, fishing, the corn maze in New Washington and spending time at the lake. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by parents, Richard and Alice (Wise) Shell of North Auburn; a brother, Dan Shell of Leesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deb and Ned Heydinger of New Washington, Angie and Darren Trapp of New Washington and Lisa and Tom Biglin of North Auburn; nine nieces and nephews and numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Secor Funeral Home in New Washington. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Robert Dendinger officiating. Burial will follow in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery.
