SANDUSKY — David W. Kelble, 75, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, November 24, 2012, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on January 9, 1937 in Elyria, the son of Gladys Williams, he was later adopted by Marcella and Frank "Jim" Kelble.
David was a 1955 graduate of Milan High School. He was a veteran U.S. Navy, having served on the U.S.S. Peterson which was involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis. David was an industrial electrician and a mechanic, having worked first at Sandusky Plastics and then later going to Columbus Showcase, in Bellevue, for 16 years, before returning to Sandusky Plastics where he had retired in 2001, after 25 years.
David loved traveling, canoeing, woodworking, spending time working on his home and in his earlier days working on his cars. He enjoyed wintering in southern Texas which he was able to do for 3 years.
David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy (Chapin) Kelble, whom he married on January 30, 1971; his family, Cassandra (Dave) Belinge of Sandusky, Christopher David (Kelly) Kelble of Castalia, Celeste (Christopher) Morey of Norwalk, Jim (Charlotte) Holloway of Seattle, WA, Jill (Kirk, Sr.) Sheets of Marshallville, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Limbird of Atlanta, GA; a niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents. At his request, no visitation or funeral services will be held and cremation will take place.
