Helen E. Livengood

 Helen E. Livengood, 97, wife of former County Engineer, Urban C. Livengood, died early Monday morning, November 5, 2012 in Gaymont Nursing Center.

She was born October 29, 1915 in Brewster, Ohio to the late Ray and Ida Mae (Howey) Bonstelle. She lived in Norwalk 50 years before moving to Florida in 1985, and returned to Norwalk to live in the Nursing Center in 2010.

Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for many years before moving to Florida.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at local nursing homes and at the Ohio Soldiers Home in Sandusky, Ohio. She was very proud to be a 67 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution , the Colonial Dames, and a long time member, and former State President, of the Daughters of 1812.

She was a member of the Firelands Historical Society and the Genealogy Society. An avid golfer, she belonged to the Norwalk Elks Ladies Golf Association for many years, and continued playing in Florida well into her 80's.

She is survived by her sons, Larry P. (Juanita) Livengood of Norwalk, OH., Urban C. (Teri) Livengood, of Las Vegas, NV., and her daughter Susan R.( Carl) D. Essex, of Norwalk, OH.

Helen is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa D.( Shawn) Runyon of London, OH., Todd C.(Cynthia) Livengood of Norwalk, OH., Jacqueline (Mark) Sindlinger of Norwalk, OH., Betsy B. (Greg) Pajak of Avon, OH., Brett W. (Grace) Miller of Augusta, GA., and Drew H. (Valerie) Livengood of Las Vegas, NV., two stepgrandchildren, Michelle (Randy) Lemery of Tarpon Springs, Fl., and Sean (Kerri) Steffanni of Norwalk; her 10 great grandchildren, her sisters, Bonnie (Schwab) Leopold of Venice Fl., and Audrey Kopp of Norwalk, OH. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Urban Livengood, her brother, Vernon Bonstelle, and her great grandson, Matthew C. Pajak. The family would like thank the wonderful nurses and staff of Gaymont Nursing Center and Stein Hospice Service for their kind care.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in Milan Cemetery, Milan, Ohio. Rev. Adrian Doll will officiate.
