Veronica Koontz

Veronica Koontz, 76, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Twilight Gardens Home.
She was born November 26, 1935 in Hastings, Pennsylvania to the late Michael J. and Anna (Pourbyanski) Rubus and came to the Norwalk area in 1961 from Cleveland, Ohio.
 Veronica was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio. She was a former employee of Pennsylvania Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia, Pa, worked with an Insurance Agency in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was a former executive secretary to the contracting and procurement division manager at NASA in Cleveland, Ohio.
 Veronica enjoyed interior design, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, bowling, dancing, vacationing at the beach, was an avid Ohio State and Penn State fan, truly loved her Pittsburgh Steelers, and especially enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother.  She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Al Koontz of Norwalk, Ohio, by her son and daughter in law, Kevin and Barb Koontz of Cygnet, Ohio and by her daughter and son in law, Cynthia L. and Craig Yakscoe of Gahanna, Ohio. Veronica is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Yakscoe and Jeffery Fowler, by her brothers and sisters in law, Robert and LaVerne Rubus of Eastlake, Ohio and Richard and Janet Rubus of Alexandria, Virginia, and by her sister and brother in law, Mary and Roman Teklinsky of Warminster, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Donald Rubus and by her sisters, Rita Diffenbach and Anna Marie Rubus.
 There will be no calling hours. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1905 or to The National Parkinson's Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741-5018.
