CLYDE - Donald C. Penn, 81, of Clyde, died Wednesday at his home.
He was born March 11, 1926, in Chicago to the late Charles and Alma (Stults) Penn.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Brown St., Clyde; life member of the Clyde VFW. He retired from the Whirlpool Corp., April 1, 1991 after many years.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Anna Penn of Norwalk and Danny and Deborah Penn of Lindsay; stepchildren, Jenell (Dan) Craig of Clyde, Jerry (Vivian) Chumley of Fremont, Dexter (Sally) Chumley of Hartville and Nathan Chumley of Vickery; seven grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and two step great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerald and Jane Penn of Wyatt, Mo. and Clarence and Emily Penn of Chesterton, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella (Kitchen) Penn, whom he married Oct. 19, 1972 and who died Jan. 14, 2007; a brother, Kenneth Penn; and sister, Flora Jane Elam.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Brown St., Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde with military graveside provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
