NORWALK, Ohio — Martha Pylant, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Saturday morning, September 29, 2012 in Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born March 22, 1925 in New London, Ohio to the late Frank and Rosaland (Showalter) Geer and was a lifelong area resident.
She had worked at various local restaurants. She was a life member of the American Legion Post #41 Auxiliary, Norwalk, Ohio, and she enjoyed baking and fishing.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, R.V. Pylant of Norwalk, Ohio, her son and daughter in law, Wayne and Sandy Pylant of New London, Ohio, by 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Richards, of Huron, Ohio.
Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Geer, who was killed in the Korean War, Robert Geer and William Geer, and by her sisters, Maxine Bellamy, Jeanette Kirkpatrick, and Jane Twaddle.
Friends may call on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Paul Lamb will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
