ROOTSTOWN Arvile Conley, 71, of Rootstown, died Thursday at his home.
He was born Jan. 25, 1936 in Oil Springs, Ky. to the late Riley and Fanny (Bailey) Conley.
He retired from Goodyear after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Moose Lodge of Stow. He was also a veteran of the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Hillyer) Conley; children, Julia (Coy) Shepherd of Columbus, Gerald (Kendra) Conley of Spartanburg, S.C., Kenny (Brenda) Conley of Norwalk, Carol (Bill) Farabaugh of Columbus and Arvile Eric Conley of New Baltimore; step-children, Michelle (Herb) Knoll of Brentwood, Tenn., Michael (Theresa) Makar of Zebulon, N.C., Marcia Locketti of Canfield and Monica Makar of Canfield; and 22 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arvile was preceded in death by his first born son, Gary Conley; 10 brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday at First Baptist Church, 96 Townsend St., Greenwich. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
