GREENWICH - Carl W. Robson, 65, of Greenwich, died Tuesday morning at his home after a short illness.
He was born May 22, 1941, in Greenwich. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwich.
He was a 1959 graduate of Greenwich High School. He was a machinist at Akron Standard Mold from 1961 to 1977 in Greenwich, and at Gorman-Rupp in Mansfield for 26 years, retiring in June of 2003.
He attended the Ripley Church, Greenwich. He was a 24-plus-year member of AA and a member of the Gorman-Rupp Quarter-Century Club. He also was a NASCAR and football fan, collected toy tractors and was a master woodworker.
Each of his grandchildren were welcomed with an Ertl tractor and received a unique handcrafted trunk at age 10.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Ginnie" (Carnahan) Robson, whom he married Sept. 1, 1962; daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Mark Tessari of Milan, Jackie and Steve Giles of Willard, Jeanie and Jeff Cook of Coshocton, Kathy and Bob Lambert of Pickerington; 14 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou and Paul Whitaker of Gahanna, Sue Westbrook of Richwood, Nancy and John Wilken of North Fairfield, Penny and Arden Kessler of Shelby; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Shirley Robson of Bucyrus, Jim and Roberta Robson of Auburn, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Carlyle Robson and Dorothy Elizabeth (Watson) King; and a granddaughter, Ruthie Kathleen Lambert.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ripley Church, 4130 S. Edwards Road, Greenwich, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Revs. David Cobb, Bob Hudberg and Brad Kochis will officiate.
