PERKINS TWP. Glenn V. Schoewe, 83, of Perkins Township, died Wednesday evening in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

He was born July 6, 1923 in Castalia.

He was employed by Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky for 23 years; and he owned and operated Schoewe Sohio service station with his brother, Donald.

He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna (Spencer) Schoewe; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Bruce Croteau and Jane and Bert Dwelle, both of Sandusky; sons and daughter-in-law, David Schoewe of Tampa, Fla., and Jeff and Geri Schoewe of Sandusky; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Anna (Pooch) Schoewe; a sister, Frances Winkle; brothers, Donald Schoewe and Calvin Schoewe; and daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Herman) Schoewe.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
