NORWALK Edsel R. Shepp, 77, of Norwalk, died Saturday in Sebring, Fla., where he and his wife had spent the past seven winters.

He was born March 17, 1930 in Detroit, son of the late Stanley and Margaret (Wishner) Shepp. He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the Army.

He owned and operated Shepp Plumbing and Heating in Norwalk for decades.

He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and served as an elder in the Norwalk congregation. He enjoyed sharing his faith through the door-to-door ministry and his involvement in congregation meetings. He and his wife touched the lives of many by sharing and living by their Bible-based message. He will be greatly missed, especially by fellow believers in Norwalk and Florida.

He also was an avid fisherman, going out in his boat with friends in search of walleye in Lake Erie.

He is survived by his wife, Alice L. Shepp of Norwalk; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Robert Alvarez of Houston; and a son and daughter-in-law, Edsel R. Jr. and Debra Shepp of Sebring.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Charles Frederick Lohf Jr. in January.

A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall, 37 Cline St., Norwalk.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, Fla.

My condolances to you all. Edsel will be missed by you now but I know we all look forward to Jehovahs new order so we can see all our now dead loved ones, soon. I'm sorry I didn't hear about "Uncle Chuck" until much later. Death will be our "last enemy" as promised. I just wanted you to know even though I may not be able to make it saturday, my thoughts and love go out to you!!!
