KIPTON — Dorothy Pennington, 82 of Kipton, died Monday evening at New Life Hospice in Lorain.
She was born Dec. 9, 1924, in Carter County, Ky., and had lived in the Kipton and Lorain areas for more than 60 years.
She worked at the former Mascon Toy Factory in Lorain, and also the Lorain County Board of Elections. She loved gardening, dancing, reading, and embroidery. She attended the Kipton Community Church and the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela J. and Allen Morrow of Kipton; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel E. and Rita Pennington of Grafton and Thomas E. and Linda Pennington of Avon Lake; three grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Smith of Ashland, Ky. and Lorene Wright of Pontiac, Mich.; a brother, Roger Wright of Ashland, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arvil "Gene" E. Pennington; parents, Ray E. Wright and Virginia (Yates) Whitener; brothers, Charles Wright, Teddy Wright and James O'Bryan.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. The Revs. Harold Taylor and Earl Connors will officiate. Burial will follow in Camden Cemetery.
